InSAR engineer (2 open positions)

Position Description

We are looking for a SAR Interferometry (InSAR) Engineer with technical skills in SAR processing, critical analysis and problems solving skills. The applicants will lead operational projects, from the definition and processing to the final reporting to the client, and will participate in the design of new methodologies and applications for ground motion monitoring and mapping applications using SAR data.
The applicant will work in a multidisciplinary technical team, including signal processing engineers, geologists, and software developers, and will be in continuous contact with the commercial, the operational and the R&D teams for the improvement of operational and R&D projects.
The main tasks of the position are described as follows:

  • Management of operational projects: project definition, project follow-up, deadlines compliance, reporting and client presentation.
  • InSAR data processing and results analysis.
  • Communicationwith commercial team in pre-sales consulting and deliveries.
  • Attending meetings.
  • This position may require travel worldwide for meetings.

Skills

Minimum skills

  • Demonstrated experiencein InSAR data processing.
  • Technical backgroundfor understandingand processing radar data sources for a wide range of remote sensing applications.
  • Dedicated software: ENVI, GIS and SNAP.
  • Project management.
  • Good written and oral reporting skills focused on deadlines, results and presentations.

Extended technical skills will be considered

  • ProgrammingLanguages: IDL, Python, C/C++ and scripting in shell.
  • Writing technical papers and oral presentation in workshops.
  • Good teamwork skills.
  • Deadlines compliant.

Languages

  • Fluent English (written and oral) is compulsory.
  • Spanish will be also considered.

GeoInformatics Engineer (1 open position)

Position Description

We are looking for a Geo-Informatics or Engineer with technical skills in Earth Observation Data processing, analysis and visualization, critical analysis and problems solving skills. The applicants will be involved in R&D projects developing tools for data integration, assimilation and analysis in the frameworkof a geographicaldomain.
The applicant will work in a multidisciplinary technical team, including signal processing engineers, geologists, and software developers, and will be in continuous contact with the commercial, the operational and the R&D teams for the improvement of operational and R&D projects.
The main tasks of the position are described as follows:

  • Developmentof tools and application for earth observation and geospatial tasks.
  • Processing of remote sensing and geo-spatial data sets.
  • Documentationof software and code.
  • Support to researcherson specific scientific SW.

Skills

Minimum skills

  • Degreein geo-informatics,computer science, informatics engineering or similar.
  • Experience in programmingin the Geo or Earth Observation domain.
  • Experience in remote sensing methods and software.
  • Deep knowledge in programminglanguages such as: Python, IDL, R and/or C/C++
  • Experienceworking with a Unix/Linuxenvironment.
  • Good written and oral reporting skills focused on deadlines, results and presentations.

Extended technical skills will be considered

  • Knowledge of EO software tools (e.g. Sentinel or Orfeo Toolboxes).
  • Knowledge of GIS Systems (GRASSsoftware suite, QuantumGIS,ArcGIS, etc.).
  • Knowledge of Databases for raster management such as open data cube or rasdaman.
  • Data analysis and visualization skills for spatial and temporal data.

Languages

  • Fluent English (written and oral) is compulsory.
  • Spanish will be also considered.
